Background information
Forest in Jordan
-
All forests, including
re-planted areas, cover less than one percent of Jordan!
-
Large areas of these
forests are threatened by pests, misuse and pressure from illegal
cutting.
-
Most Forests are
degraded with little or no natural regeneration
-
Forests can help protect
Jordan’s soil from erosion, stabilize watersheds and other fragile
areas, help preserve the integrity of agricultural land , serves as
a temporary shelter for migratory birds and helps keep the air pure
and health!
-
Reserves & Protected
Areas are established to protect rare and endangered species, areas
with fragile ecosystems and areas representing Natural Heritage.
Dibbin is no exception, it represents the southern most limit for
naturally growing Pine Forests in the Northern Hemisphere.
-
Natural and Cultural
Heritage are our National Treasures, by preserving and protecting
them we command the respect and honor of our people and nations.

Help us!
Will Dana, Wadi Rum, Petra or other parks and reserves be next?
Will we compromise our unique cultural & natural identity to satisfy
other investor's greed?
We are not against investment in tourism but in alternative locations
away from forests. Let us promote “Green Investment”
Sustainable Development is all about finding the balance between
Economic, Social development and environmental protection.
Is it too late?
