APN’s “If Only You Knew” volunteer team gave a targeted awareness session on environmental protection for sixth-grade students at Yarmouk Elementary School. The lecture forms part of APN’s ongoing efforts to cultivate environmental awareness among younger generations by bringing these discussions into practical, everyday learning spaces.
The session introduced key environmental concepts, with a focus on the environmental and agricultural challenges facing society and their implications for food sovereignty and natural resources. Volunteers also shared hands-on experiences in home gardening, offering concrete examples of how small household spaces can be used to grow vegetables and plants, and how such practices contribute to broader efforts toward food sovereignty.
Students engaged actively throughout the session, showing strong interest in the topics discussed and participating through questions and dialogue. Together, their responses reflected a growing sense of shared responsibility for safeguarding the natural world.
