APN continued its efforts to support farmers across Jordan by organising a planting day in Al-Amiriyah - Jordan, in partnership with Nabil Foods. The activity saw the planting of 200 fruit trees for a six-member farming family, with the participation of 20 volunteers and in cooperation with Thurah Association.
The trees planted included 150 native olive trees, 25 grapevines, and 25 fig trees, increasing the productivity of the land through a diverse range of crops while providing the family with a sustainable source of income in the years ahead.
In addition to their agricultural value, the newly planted trees are expected to deliver significant environmental benefits by absorbing approximately 4,340 kilograms of carbon dioxide over time. They will also contribute to expanding vegetation cover and generating both food and economic returns for the family in the long term.
This activity forms part of APN's Green Caravan programme, launched in 2003, which has since supported thousands of smallholder farmers by planting fruit trees across Jordan. The programme aims to strengthen local food production while reinforcing farmers' connection to their land.
