In collaboration with MetLife, we brought new life to the land through a community tree-planting event in the village of Al-Kafir, located in Jerash. 500 fruit trees were planted to support the livelihoods of two farming families.
20 MetLife employee volunteers rolled up their sleeves to plant 250 olive trees, 150 fig trees, and 100 citrus trees on a small plot of land tended by two brothers who rely on farming as their primary source of income.
Following the planting, volunteers enjoyed a traditional homemade breakfast. Lovingly prepared by the women of the Souf Charitable Association, food was shared in recognition of the vital role women play in nourishing families and futures in Jordan as well as the importance of strengthening collaboration between grassroots initiatives.
This activity forms part of APN’s Green Caravan programme, which works to support small farmers and cultivate food sovereignty through hands-on, sustainable interventions that mutually-fortify the land and its people.
