APN has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Al-Balqaa Creativity Institute for Training, in order to implement agricultural activities within the Green Caravan planting programme in Al-Salt governorate. The aim is to reach self-sufficiency in some crops and raise farmers’ income, in addition to increasing the green area, in a step that would institutionalize the relationship between the two parties.

According to the agreement signed at APN's office located in the Shmeisani area, the two parties will organize activities and periodic visits to the beneficiary farmers to ensure the sustainability of the projects, and provide them with the appropriate technical advice.

In comments on the agreement, APN's general manager Mariam Al-Jaajaa said it comes after the great success of the Hakoura Bayouda project One (in a region in the Qasabah of Salt), where the Group, in cooperation with Al-Balqaa Creativity Institute, planted about 6,200 trees in 620 homes in 2017.

She added that this project will increase the targeted agricultural land area, and will focus on training families in agricultural techniques to contribute to enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production.

For her part, Ilham Al-Abadi, representative of Al-Balqaa institute, said she is looking forward to cooperating with APN in order to raise the efficiency of the local community and advance it. Its goals include “transforming Bayouda and the areas (borders and municipality of Al-Arida Al-Jadida) into an environmentally important area, and later to a green area”, according to Abadi.
