APN General Manager Mariam Al Jaajaa joined the roundtable meetings of the newly launched Council of Presidents and Rebuilding Leaders, a collaborative alliance aimed at strengthening coordinated humanitarian action in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, and other regions in urgent need. The council was formed in response to the extreme hardships faced by communities across these regions and was brought together by the Gaza Health Initiative (GHI), the Global Health and Relief Initiative (GHRI), and the National Arab-American Medical Association (NAAMA).

The meeting took place as part of a full-day forum that marked the launch of the council, working to foster cooperation among institutions and organisations working in humanitarian aid, education, and reconstruction.

During her intervention, Al Jaajaa drew on APN’s diverse and innovative field experience, highlighting its strategies to counter starvation tactics used in Gaza and other areas enduring conflict and occupation. She outlined practical methods for reaching the most vulnerable communities in the face of systematic humanitarian constraints and blockades, underscoring the central role of food security in supporting relief efforts while also laying the groundwork for long-term recovery. To achieve this, Al Jaajaa called for the immediate resumption of local agricultural production in Gaza to ensure sustainable access to food.

The roundtable brought together presidents and representatives of high-level institutions and organisations for dialogue sessions, keynote speeches, and specialised discussions focused on long-term recovery. Participants shared a common vision for rebuilding hospitals, strengthening local health systems, restoring educational institutions, reconstructing housing and community infrastructure, expanding nutrition and food security programmes, and developing a coordinated framework for orphan care and enhanced support for injured civilians.

This event marked a key milestone in uniting humanitarian leaders around a shared commitment to restoring human dignity and rebuilding conflict-affected communities, with trust, respect, and professionalism serving as the foundation for lasting collaboration.
