The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Jordan invited APN to attend the opening workshop for the project "Transition to More Efficient, Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Agricultural Systems," under the patronage and presence of the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, FAO Representative in Jordan Nabil Assaf, and with support from the Norwegian Embassy in Amman and the attendance of Ambassador Espen Evjenth Lindback.

In her intervention, APN Chairperson of the Board, Razan Zuayter, highlighted the importance of projects that support smallholder farmers, especially in production inputs, marketing, and agricultural manufacturing. She also discussed whether wheat, for example, would be supported in the project, which has a budget of over $1.4 million and aims to support Jordanian and Syrian families. Jordan needs development projects that support communities in combating poverty and hunger.

Zuayter linked agricultural and food manufacturing projects to reducing crop loss, especially since the main interventions for solving the food crisis are related to the fair distribution of food, appropriate food systems, and reducing food waste.
