Around 650 fruit-bearing lemon trees were planted by APN in the lands of farmers in the Shouna area - North Valley on Saturday (October 5, 2019) as part of the Green Caravan Program. Mohammad Qtaishat, APN’s Project Manager, stated that this activity happening at the beginning of the agricultural season this year will have a positive impact on targeted families within 2-3 years. It will provide a sustainable income through planting hundreds of trees and establishing a water pool to support the project.

The widow of farmer Hassan Mohammed Diab (Om Saddam) along with her kids were on the verge of selling their land due to their inability to invest in it.  Om Saddam expressed her overwhelming happiness for being able to cultivate and maintain her land, pointing out that this will bring sustainable economic returns for her and her orphaned children.

About 50 students volunteered in this tree planting event organized by Nabd AlQuds team at the Hashemite University, the Jerusalem Committee at Yarmouk University, and the IEEE team at Al-Balqa’ Applied University.
