Building on a five-year partnership with the Amman International Film Festival, we distributed 500 fruit trees to 12 families in the Badr area with the support of the Asayel Badr Association. The trees included a diverse mix of local olive varieties, almonds, citrus, figs, and other species.

Rooted in the principles of food sovereignty that guide APN’s Green Caravan Programme, this initiative aims to re-envision “aid” in terms of building sustainable and self-sufficient food systems. As regenerative, productive assets, these trees will enable families to secure lasting livelihoods and fortify local food systems that are rooted in the land.

Each tree is expected to absorb approximately 21.7 kg of carbon dioxide annually, bringing the total carbon absorption of this batch to around 10.85 tons of CO₂. Over time, they will also generate enough oxygen to support more than 1,000 people, delivering measurable environmental and developmental impacts.

Our partnership with cultural institutions, such as the Amman International Film Festival, also speaks to APN’s ability to mobilize cross-sector support to strengthen both the environmental and social foundations of our collective future.
