APN | Zoom
29 April 2026
We were invited to speak at a session organised by the Faculty of Humanities at the University of La Laguna in Spain, titled “Palestine: Memory, Testimony, and the Future”. The event brought together students and academics to discuss the cultural, social, and political dimensions of the Palestinian experience.
During the session, we gave a presentation titled “Harvesting Hope: Green Resistance in Palestine”, which detailed APN’s programmes, achievements, and approach to advancing food sovereignty across Palestine and the wider region in the face of colonial occupation and the weaponisation of food and environment. Connecting our current efforts to their roots, Chairperson Razan Zuayter provided an overview of APN’s origins and the early beginnings of the Green Resistance movement.
Dr. Violeta Jojo Verge also presented a lecture titled “Palestine: Resilience and Nonviolent Resistance”, exploring diverse cultural expressions of identity and resistance. Among the examples she shared was the work of Palestinian women embroiderers, whose traditional artistry preserves the vibrant threads of Palestinian cultural heritage and identity across generations and geographies.
