APN Chairperson, Razan Zuayter, took part in the panel discussion on the third day of the Eco Jo Expo 2024, remarking, "I feel the trees in Al Hussein Park are welcoming me, as we played a role in their design and planting over two decades ago."
During the session, titled “Food Crisis or Agricultural Policy Crisis?”, Zuayter gave a presentation explaining that achieving food sovereignty is realized by supporting small farmers and ensuring their access to agricultural inputs.
She stated that political sovereignty cannot be achieved without sovereignty over agriculture and production, explaining that economic liberation is the modern face of colonialism.
In her presentation, Zuayter also highlighted APN’s "Revive Gaza’s Farmland" project, launched last March in response to the calls of Gaza’s farmers to resist the systematic war of starvation and genocide imposed on the people of Gaza by the Israeli occupation.
It is worth mentioning that the Eco Jo Expo 2024 began in mid-August under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Ali, in collaboration with the Greater Amman Municipality, the National Center for Agricultural Research, and the Jordan Chamber of Industry. Held at Al Hussein Park in Amman, the Expo aims to promote the concept of sustainability and connect it with community work by raising environmental awareness and sustainable practices in Jordan. The event highlights the latest innovations and sustainable solutions in the fields of energy, waste management and recycling, water management, food, and green industries.
