APN mobilizes banks and plants 1200 fruit trees in the Central Jordan Valley | The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature

The Green Caravan arrived to the area of Dirar Bin Alazwar – Deir A’la on Saturday 29/10/2016 to grow 500 monthly lemon trees through joint support from Jordan Bank and APN.

The goal was to enhance food security and find a consistent and renewed source of income for the farmers. More than 50 volunteers, including employees from the bank, participated in the activity. For more Photos:  On 22/10/2016 ,  APN organized a another activity in the same area to grow 200 lemon, orange, guava and olive trees via support from Capital Bank.  Absher initiative and Zidni Karaman Ala Karam society, as well as 40 volunteers participated in the event. For more Photos:  APN organized two additional activities sponsored by Al Ahli Bank on 5/11/2016 and 6/11/2016  to plant 500 citrus (monthly) lemon trees for four farmers in the areas of Deir A’la and Kreima. The lemon trees selected are characterized by their high yield for they can produce up to 3 times a year. More than 50 volunteers from the Kuluna Ahel initiative that consists of the employees of AL Ahli Bank participated in the agricultural activity. They had full faith that by planting the trees, a necessary message would be sent to motivate local institutions in all sectors to work on increasing efforts to reach a Green Jordan.
