As part of APN’s Green Caravan Program, 200 citrus tree saplings have been planted in Sbaihi area in Al-Salt governorate north of the capital city of Amman.

The cultivation work on Sep.7th, 2019, was carried out in cooperation with Audi Bank and in coordination with Nawa Initiative.

APN’s project manager Mohammad Qtheishat said the cultivation work gains special importance in light of the need of many Jordanian farmers for support to continue caring for their lands. He added: ”This is what APN seeks to achieve since the launch of the Green Caravan  program in 2003 through partnerships with different institutions.”

The Green Caravan Program is one of the major projects of the Group that seek to empower Jordanian farmers, increase the green area and reduce desertification. Ronza Qsous of Audi Bank said voluntary work in the Green Caravan Program reflects the Bank’s goals of sustainability and pursuit of food security.

Twenty Audi Bank employees took part in planting the saplings in cooperation with ‘Nashmiyat Bayyoudah’ initiative group. The volunteers expressed happiness to take part in such activities, noting the importance of working and volunteering to care for the environment and deepen ties with the land.

A week later, APN also planted 100 fruit tree saplings in the Sbaihi area in cooperation with the Ahli Bank of Jordan.

APN expressed pride in its partnership with the Bank saying such activities largely reflect positively on the life of farmers, especially in light of the need of many of them for support to keep on caring for their lands.
