The People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) condemned Zionist Israel for its two-day large-scale incursion in Jenin City, which left 12 youths dead, 143 injured, and 4000 displaced. In the statement, PCFS also denounced the aerial raids in Gaza, with both attacks occurring just days after the Eid festival.

The statement highlighted the heinous Zionist crime observed in the camp, which not only targeted the hospital but also obstructed the arrival of ambulances to assist the wounded. Additionally, it addressed the repercussions of Zionist bombings in Gaza and other Palestinian regions, including the severe consequences of depriving Palestinian farmers and fishermen of their livelihood.

The coalition also slammed the US imperialists for actively collaborating with Zionist Israel in the attack on Jenin. Just as barbarically proud Benjamin Netanyahu is of the “moral and political backing” the US has been giving his regime, it must be taken into account that this yet again proves the urgency of the continuing investigations by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) into these two regimes.

PCFS Co-Chair and APN Chairperson of the Board, Razan Zuayter, described the attacks as “an extermination war where they used warplanes in a camp of one square kilometer”. However, Zuayter added that they failed and withdrew in the end due to the resistance of the heroic Palestinians.

PCFS is a South-led global rural people's movement with over 100 member organizations and four global regional formations. The Coalition and its members actively contribute to the goal of strengthening the global solidarity of rural people's movements in the struggle for people's food sovereignty, genuine agrarian reform, people-led agroecology, and the right to food.
