Building on the successful collaboration between APN and the Central Bank of Jordan, and in conjunction with the bank's Social Responsibility department, 50 employees participated in planting 500 citrus fruit trees in the Southern Jordan Valley district of Karak Governorate. This initiative was conducted in partnership with the Ain Abata Women's Association for Rural Women and the Al Numeira Environmental Association, with the active involvement of 24 women from the district.

The activities carries a sustainable development dimension aimed at empowering women who have chosen to pursue agriculture in communities reliant on the land's productivity. The Southern Jordan Valley, being one of Jordan’s most fertile regions, also encompasses significant untapped areas.

The Southern Jordan Valley's Directorate of Agriculture approximates the land area in the region to be around 50,000 dunums. Of this, 70% is currently under cultivation, with fruit trees accounting for only 9% of the cultivated land. This presents opportunities to bolster local communities by increasing the number of fruit trees and expanding related agricultural activities.

It's important to highlight that, since the commencement of the 2023-2024 agricultural season, APN planted over 10 thousand fruit trees in the Southern Jordan Valley district. This initiative aims to support small farmers in the region and strengthen food security and self-sufficiency in Jordan.
