On October 29, the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature planted around 500 fruit trees at the homes of 21 families in Madaba Governorate. With the support of National Paints, the project is a step towards local food security and the self-sufficiency of these agricultural families.

One of the beneficiaries, a young farmer named Mohamed Khaled, expressed his joy in receiving his share of trees. As he was planting the trees in his plot, he said that they would serve as a starting investment on a future where he could rely on agriculture alone to sustain himself. He recounted his love for the profession which was passed to him from his father.

The trees–including olive, lemon, red plum, and almond–were distributed in partnership with the Madaba Women's Association, as part of the Green Caravan program. The Green Caravan has resumed its activities with the start of the rainy season.
