APN and the FAO Meet in Cairo to Discuss the Promotion of the "Arab Tree Path" | The Arab Group for the Protection of Nature

On February 5, 2020, Arab Network for Food Sovereignty (ANFS) President Razan Zuaytar and APN General Manager Mariam Al Jaajaa met with members of the Regional Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Cairo, to discuss the "Arab Tree Path" project.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to work on a concept note in preparation for the Arab League’s April meeting on the project. The Arab Tree Path was adopted by the Arab League Sub-Committee for the Eradication of Hunger in 2019.

The February meeting was attended by FAO representatives: Abdel Salam Ould Ahmed, Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa; AbdelHamied Adam Hamid, Senior Forestry Officer; Kayan Jaff, Senior Regional Policy Officer; and Nasredin Hag Elamin, Representative in Egypt.

APN and ANFS held the first preparatory meeting for the Arab Tree Path on January 14, 2020, in Amman.
