Since the launch of the Green Caravan programme, APN has been dedicated to empowering farmers in marginalized areas in Jordan. Over the span of two decades, a true partnership has flourished with local farmers, characterized by collaboration and a shared vision to promote the agricultural sector through planting trees that align with our environment and cultural heritage. The primary aim of this endeavor is to contribute to sustainable development, in line with the United Nations' established goals, notably Goal 2, which seeks to eliminate hunger, achieve food security, and enhance nutrition, as well as Goal 13, urging immediate action to combat climate change and its consequences.

As part of multiple local activities spanning four Jordanian governorates, from Irbid in the north to Balqa in the central region, passing through Karak in the south and reaching Aqaba, the Green Caravan programme planted 1,000 fruit trees with the support of Bank al Etihad, one of APN’s golden sponsors. This initiative specifically targeted five farming families, particularly those residing in southern Jordan Valley and the central Jordan Valley, areas that APN has placed special emphasis on due to their significance as Jordan's food basket.

The local community, alongside the bank employees, enthusiastically participated in the planting process during the four activities. These newly planted trees will not only serve as a sustainable source of income but also play a crucial role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 22 tons each year.
