We continue to strengthen our active presence across regional and international platforms, elevating the voice of Arab communities affected by wars, occupation, environmental destruction and resource-grabbing policies. From United Nations halls to global conferences and specialised workshops, our role has stood out in bridging research and advocacy, influencing public policies on land, food, and water sovereignty, and defending environmental rights in Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and the wider Arab region.

  • We represented civil society at the 53rd session of the United Nations Committee on World Food Security, held in Rome, Italy, from 20–24 October 2025, alongside representatives from governments, international organisations, and civil society.
  • We launched the findings of a comprehensive study on food sovereignty in Jordan during an extended meeting attended by agricultural and water experts, farmers, representatives from relevant ministries and government bodies, members of parliament, and civil society organisations.
  • The issue of expropriating agricultural lands in Ghor es-Safi and Ghor Fifa in the Jordan Valley has seen new developments following government approval and publication of the decision in the official gazette, prompting environmental, parliamentary, and rights-based actors to take action in coordination with those affected by the proposed railway project for the Arab Potash Company. We previously submitted a position paper, prepared in collaboration with 35 Jordanian environmental organizations and associations, to the relevant government authorities. MP Basem Al-Rawabdeh also submitted a parliamentary question to the government regarding the project details and its environmental impact assessment.

The risks associated with the expropriation were also highlighted during a meeting with Jordan’s Minister of Environment, Dr. Ayman Suleiman, and heads of environmental associations, to discuss strengthening their role in supporting environmental and development efforts.
